As if we needed another reminder of how stupid public officials have become these days. Here’s another example of idiots being allowed to teach kids. The story goes like this. A fourth-grader in west Texas has been suspended from school. The reason? According to his father, the child pretended to be in possession of a ring that is similar to the One Ring in Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings, saying that it could make a classmate disappear.
Well, apparently teachers at that school are mentally deficient and saw this as being equal to a terrorist threat. Is it any wonder that kids don’t seem to be learning much in school these days? You can’t make this stuff up.
Steward’s son had watched The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies over the weekend before allegedly making that claim in the classroom, and when he confronted the school principal to try to understand this bizarre suspension, the principal mentioned that his son’s claim was a threat to another child’s safety and that it doesn’t matter whether the threats are magical or not. Neither would be tolerated. Can you believe that people like this are allowed to be in charge of anything?
There has been no comment from the district’s superintendent or school principal yet. Steward said, “I assure you my son lacks the magical powers necessary to threaten his friend’s existence. If he did, I’m sure he’d bring him right back.”
It should be noted that this boy has been suspended three times to date. Once for calling a black classmate black, and the other incident involved bringing a book to school that featured a drawing of a pregnant woman within. Weird huh?
