If you are interested in learning more about the new Raspberry Pi 2 that launched today, a new hands on and unboxing video has been released by Element 14.
The new quad-core Raspberry Pi 2 mini PC is available from today to purchase for $35 and is powered a 900MHz quad-core ARM Cortex-A7 CPU supported by 1GB LPDDR2 SDRAM.
The 40pin extended GPIO and form factor are identical to the Raspberry Pi Model B+ that launched last year and still provides complete compatibility with the original Raspberry Pi version 1 hardware. Element 14 explains :
“This Raspberry Pi 2 processor can be configured likely to overclock to 1.2GHz fairly safely and extra RAM will come in handy at the most hungry applications. I think it’s great that the format remains the same as there is now plenty of boxes and expansions HAT made for the model Pi Model B but fortunately remain perfectly compatible. Currently it seems that you can already buy for around about €32, so the price range we are used with this board is also respected.”
